Here are some helpful tips for installing the system:
- For your physical comfort during assembly, consider placing a workbench in the work area.
- Assembling the system parts in another room and transporting it to the designated location may be a better option if the designated location is not conducive for assembly.
- Tightening screws with an electric screwdriver is faster. You will need a PH1 and HEX 4mm bit, as well as a 10mm drive socket. Handle the driver and bolts carefully to avoid damage.
- When connecting the tube to the connector, it is recommended to soften the tube end with hot water or a hot gun blower. Pushing the tube into the connector will be easier if you move it up and down.
- When cutting many tubing pieces of the same length, consider clamping a wooden block or using a heavy brick as a stopper.
- When placing the bricks, a piece of wood cut to the correct length can be used as a spacer between each brick.
- When assembling the lysimeter, screw until the end, but do not overtighten. Then tighten the top plate with the load cell fully centered.
- Do not overtighten the straight male connector 1/8''- 8 mm (the transparent connector with the red o-ring) to the solenoid valve in the controller because it can crack.
- Before connecting the pressure gauge, wrap the thread with Teflon tape or another sealant.
- To unplug the data or sensor connectors (a), push a small, thin, flat head screwdriver (b) between the plug and the socket and pull gently. (it cannot be released by simply pulling it). Be careful not to break the connectors by pushing too hard.
